SPECIAL FORCES VETERAN LIEUTENANT COLONEL TOM LUDWIG ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR REPUBLICAN NOMINATION FOR NEW YORK’S 3RD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

Today, retired Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel Tom Ludwig announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for New York’s 3rd Congressional District on Long Island.

Thomas Ludwig made the following statement:

When I left NY to start my military career, my purpose was to protect and defend my country after the attacks of 9/11. Now that my military career is over, I return home to Long Island and see another kind of crisis affecting our nation: a crisis of trust and failed leadership. This crisis has led to record inflation, rampant crime, and a migrant crisis.  Working families of Long Island like the one I grew up in are struggling like never before. My new purpose is to give the people of NY’s 3rd Congressional District the leadership and representation they deserve.

I look forward to sharing my message about my plan to restore trust in our leadership and bring common-sense solutions to the problems facing our district and our country.

I took an oath to protect this nation and I ask the people of NY’s 3rd Congressional District to allow me to continue that oath as their next member of Congress.

Tom Ludwig is a 3rd Generation Long Islander and grew up in Levittown. During Thomas’ 21 year military career he deployed seven times, to include one deployment to Iraq, three deployments to Afghanistan, earning multiple Bronze stars and a combat valor award, and three deployments to South America. Thomas had two deployments as a Special Forces Company Commander, where he had mission command of all special operations in Central America, Colombia, and Peru. Thomas has five college degrees, two graduate certificates, and eight professional certificates, and has received some of the most advanced military combat, psychological, and leadership training in the world.
